Full bodied beer with sweet wheat flavor and beautiful dense foam top. It has a pleasant bitterness and unique spicy aroma with Orange Peel, Coriander, Nutmeg, Cinnamon, and Vanilla Beans. Complex yet soothing.

Bottle @ Joes Tasting shared with Joes and Dutchdrebus. At first clear, later hazy pour, small off-white head thatβs gone instantly. Orange color. Smell sweet, some spices, nutmeg or cinnamon. Tastes about the same. Low carbo, low body.

33 cl bottle as βCommemorative Ale 2011β, BBE 11/2012
Sweet aroma has toffee and fruits and some spices. Actually it is very close to a typical aroma of an aged belgian ale. Some peppermint too. Flavour is not that pleasant, it is rather peppery and spicy with hints of alcohol. Sweet finish. A decent belgian ale, but a alcohol and toffee-like sweetness are a bit too strong here.

(Bottle as Commemorative Ale) Hazy reddish copper with thin beige head. Beautiful intense aroma, mainly featuring esters and banana with some sweet candy. Wonderful mouth filling soft fine carbonation giving almost fluffy texture. Full body with nice oily / creaminess. Hugely complex flavour with very nicely balanced fruit, spice and caramel, finishing with spice and a little bitterness. An exceptional beer.

(bottle)(Hong Kong)(as Commemorative Ale 2011) clear orange brown, small white head; aromas of soy sauce, floral (lily), stewed fruit; sharp flavour, bit earthy and chemical, with long light bitter and mineral finish; brings to mind a cross between a barley wine and a Belgian triple

Cloudy amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of malt, cookie spices, grass and yeast - a bit too perfumed spice. Sweet and spiced flavour, with yeast and banana notes - a bit too cloying
