Full bodied beer with sweet wheat flavor and beautiful dense foam top. It has a pleasant bitterness and unique spicy aroma with Orange Peel, Coriander, Nutmeg, Cinnamon, and Vanilla Beans. Complex yet soothing.

(Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of markgugs. Hazy amber golden with an off-white head. Astringent, fruity Brettish nose. Medium body with fruit and spices being dominant. Astringent, bitter finish. Unusual but quite interesting. 160408

Enormously large off-white head. Cloudy brown body. Wonderfully spicy aroma... pretty awesome. Taste is fruity and full of the spice. Indeed it is pretty good. Medium body. Hella complex.

Pours amber into a tulip. Head quickly fills the glass and leaves thick lacing as it slowly...slowly recedes. Upfront yeasty funk and crisp. Well-balanced think middle and a lasting yet dry coriander and citrus finish. Like a funky english barleywine.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy orange with a fully diminished white head. Light brettish citric and orange fruity aroma. Flavour is light orange fruity and starts sweet but soon reveals a light dry woody note into the finish.

Pour is a hazy orange with a large white head. Aroma is huge amonts of candi sugar with some spice. Flavor is lots of spice, cinnamon and clove. Lots of good stuff going on here. Very tasty as only a new years beer can be. If your looking for a way to celebrate the year you are in this is a good one to bring to the party.

2004. Glowing amber color with a very active, light tan, head. Interesting aroma of orange, spices, vanilla, cinnomon, nutmeg, and coriander. Reminds me of being in the produce section of a grocery store. Spicy mouth. Very flavorful. The orange is pretty prevelant. Has a floral, coriander, slightly earthy, taste to it. The complex flavors blend well together. Excellent and out of the ordinary.

2005 bottle - Pours light amber with a one finger, lingering head. It smells of malt, vanilla, and a variety of spices that put me in mind of ginger, though I see that’s not in the beer. There’s lots of spice in the moderately bitter flavor and enough malt presence to thoroughly bury the 9% abv. The finish is dry. While not my favorite, I think the spices were overdone, this is an interesting beer.

2004 bottle. Complex aroma of fruit. Citrus, perhaps pear, vanilla and others. Ruby apricot color with a ferocious beige head. Strong fruit flavors, followed by the listed spices. Shockingly good. Finishes relatively dry, with an astringent fruit character.

Bottle 2004 from Ledgers in Berkeley; hazy rust color with a huge straw-colored head; Nose of sweet caramel, cloves, nutmeg, and light banana and vanilla notes; smells like a Belgian Ale; flavor is heavy with caramel malts, nutmeg, cinnamon, some light hops (still showing after 3 years), and a citrus note! Sure beats the hell out of their Red Rice Ale!
