Tap at Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Dark brown with small gold head. Aroma is roasty malt, dark chocolate, bit of smoke and spice, creamy vanilla, and coffee. Taste is creamy vanilla, bit of berries, plum, lots of malt. Bit of boozy liqueur taste too. Thick and creamy texture. Pretty nice.

From bottle. Black and opague. Roast, licorice and onions in the aroma. Sharp citrus flavor, roasty with coffee and licorice. Very tasty, but out of balance.

Bottle from Etre Gourmet, bought in 2012. (BF Nov 2012) Black with a large, nice tan head. Roasted aroma of chocolate, licorice and some light "candy". Similar taste. A bit sweet and with a full body. The finish was bitter.

(Draught at Little Delirium Café, Brussels, 26 Oct 2013) Black colour with creamy, pale brown head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of black coffee, dark chocolate and cocoa. Malty, roasted taste with black coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice, black rye bread and a dry finish with a generous roasty bitterness. Almost full body, quite dry. Well made and tasty stout. Excellent beer.

Bottle @ BBF ’13, courtesy of Iluvatarmilan & Countbeer, thanks guys! Black color. Aroma’s: roasted malts, sweet, dried fruit. Lots of fruit retronasal, sourish, tar. Flavor is roasted, light sweet, medium bitter. Body is light to medium. Finishes with hints of tar, moderate bitter. Pretty good.

Bottle shared at Borefts ’13, thanks to Kamiel (Countbeer), 27/09/13. Light black with a thin tan head, floaties are evident. Nose is roast malts, slightly lactic notes, cocoa, earthiness, mineral notes. Taste comprises cocoa powder, mineral bite, roast malts, dark fruits, tarte fruit tang. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, dry finish. Ok - nothing I’d revist.

Bottle @ Borefts ’13 thx to Illuvatarmilan (if I spelled that correctly). Pitch black coloured beer with a full sized, dark brown head (which looks lovely). Smells some iron, roasty and coffee. Tastes coffee, again iron, liquorice, slightly salty and roasty. I’m not a fan of liquorice taste in beer, but this beer does it quite nicely. Medium to full body and soft carbo.

75cl Bottle at BBF’13, thanks Kamiel/Milan. Black colour, beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, quite sweet, malty, chocolate, pipe tobacco. Flavour is also quite sweet, chocolate, roasted malts, dark fruits, some sweetened coffee, roasted and light hoppy bitter finish. Medium-bodied. A bit simple, but nice.

Sampled @ Borefts 2013 from bottle thanks to Illuvatarmilan. Pitch black color, small brown head. Smell and taste malts, toasted malts, dried fruits, some bitter. Hard to describe. Not bad at all though.
