Pouring cloudy straw gold with a generous white head, this classic wheat beer is full of spicy, phenolic banana and clove yeast scents, which reappear on the medium-dry palate with a delicate green apple that brings the tasting to an elegantly dry finish.

0.5l bottle. Slightly hazy (suprisingly clear for a weizen though) orange body, huge white head. Taste and aroma of ripe banana, honey and cloves. The finish has some floral hop bitterness to it. Nice weizen.

hazy orange to golden colour, huge off-white head with yellowish notes, which lasts forever; aroma of bread, citrusses, some banana and yeastyness; taste is the same - not bad weizen

Had this at Augustiner am Gendarnenmarkt, Mitte, Berlin, Germany, Friday 15th November 2013 Hazy amber colour with lovely white head. This is quite a contrast from the Pils with a wonderful trademark bananatastic nose. Soft with a lovely buzzy, fizzyness on the tongue, banana foremost in the mouth, cereal and a little chewy soft malt follows, lovely. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

50cl Bottle from De Bierkoning, just past BB date. Murky orange/amber colour, white head. Aroma of sweet banana, clove, nutmeg, yeast, caramel. Flavour is medium-sweet, ripe and green banana, clove, yeast, some caramel, light CO2-bitter finish with a hint of lemon. Light-bodied. Decent sweet Weizen.

0.5 l bottle from Ivana Trgovina, Split. It poured hazy deep yellow body with medium sized head. Weak aroma of some regular esters, like banana and bubblegum. Flavor was sweet, watery, somewhat chalky and yoghurty with banana and some spiced being the main component. Quite light bodied with shorter, chalky and acidic finish. An average and unimpressive weizen, just like the other way overpriced and overrated Augustiners.
