The palest maris otter malt provides a full bodied base for generous quantities of Goldings hops. Bitterness is pronounced, spicy and resinous and will smooth out over time. Dry hopping with extra Goldings before bottling ensures a full aroma and rich characterful bitterness.

Bottle from the brewery. Appearance - golden with a generous fluffy head. Nose - biscuits and slight butterscotch. Taste - much more than the nose. Biscuits, maybe ginger biscuits in fact, and apples. Palate - medium bodied with a dry crunchy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - yeah, it got better.

Bottle split at Rilesters pad, thanks Steve you inappropriate pervert, 31/10/14. Very lightly hazed golden with a big old white head. Nose is pale malts, light hop presence, citric rinds, straw, bitter orange. Taste comprises more pale malts, caramel, earthy, fruit rinds, bread dough, citrics. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with an earthy bitterness. Ok pale, English IPA - or English pale ale, wouldn’t have classed this one as an IPA myself, doesn’t deliver enough in the way of hops to justify this!

50cl bottle pours with a clear copper body that has thin gold edges and supporting an off white head. The aroma offers up big floral hops, some spicy hops, a big spicy oak sensation and mild malt sweetness. The taste is similar starting with floral hops and a touch citrus of and then heading firmly into robust spicy oak. To midway a modest grassiness joins to add some depth. Thinly ringed at the edge is a faint hard candy fruit note that doesn’t take anything away or add anything to the experience. Nice spicy wood flavored bitter hoppy brew.

50cl bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. A cloudy pale amber pour with a billowing white head; muted fruity aroma; rich, buttery, fruity taste; with a dry, satisfying finish. A good blend between the modern American IPA style, and the traditional British.

Bottle from Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Slightly hazy, pale golden colour. Lovely, thick, tight, white head. Aroma is fresh, malty, peppery, spicy. Some citrus zest. Some grassiness. Taste is grassy dry, spicy, and bitter. Full bodied, hop oily palate. Big, long, bitter finish. Big, but somehow subtle.

Bottled 500ml @Beer Hunters
Hazy orange color, good white head. Grapefruity-fruity hoppy aroma. Medium-bodied. Grapefruity, some bubblegummy notes (wheat?). Ok, a good example of new wave English IPA.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a hazy light amber with a frothy long-lived white head and lots of broken lace. The aroma is big citrus fruit yeast, malt, hops and some liqourice. The flavour is medium bitter with a medium bodied palate and a long hop bitter finish.
