This is obviously a celebratory beer. Its high alcohol content (10 degrees by volume) and the other organoleptic characteristics that distinguish it, such as some unusual ingredients, among which the Champagne yeasts, two types of honey (wildflower and acacia) and some stand out wild fruits, among which the sour cherry and the blackthorn are the prizes. Its foam is affected by the intense alcohol content and is not necessarily persistent any longer than is allowed by its powerful ethyl burden.

Bottle split at CBC Clerko, thanks to Kenny, 10/09/15. Hazed orange topped with a decent off white swirl. Nose is straw, light puke, pink berry, floral notes. Taste comprises bitter fruit, farmy, light wood, faint citric peel, hay. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok ... hides the ABV well but on the other hand doesn’t deliver a lot on said ABV.

Craft Clerkenwell Bottle Share. Hazy pink tinted gold beer, big fluffy pale peach colour head. Palate is light with modest fine carbonation. Sweet floralness. Mild spice. Sweet floral generic fruits. More floralness and spice. Light finish. Hides the abv very well but was expecting something more coherent than this.

Bottle thanks to Kenny. It pours murky hazy rose with a decent off-white head. The nose is soft, juicy, floral/hibiscus, light jam, bubblegum, light plastic and Welch’s grape juice. The taste is crisp, bitter, toasty, light spice, hibiscus, sweet, juicy, grape skin and rhubarb. Medium + body and highish carbonation. A touch restrained overall, but enjoyable nonetheless. Hides abv pretty well also.

21.01.2015, 0,75l bottle @ home:
Nice slightly fizzy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet, wheat, sugar, yeast, honey, hay, almonds, grass, bubblegum, weeds. Taste is kind of harsh boozy, yeast, alcohol, weeds, almond essence, harsh bubblegum, minerals, sugar, grass, bark, paper. Medium bitterness, harsh boozy mouthfeel, high carbonation. Sounds very interesting, but turns out to be anything BUT interesting...

Bottle. Aroma fruity, evidently sour, simple fruitish sourness, peach. Hazy orange colour with a pinky tint. Taste is fruity, peach, berries, slight general yeastiness, light to moderate sourness. Quite easily drinkable. Overall somewhat simple sourness and also straightforward overall character. Very good nevertheless.

Bottle, 75cl. A dense, white head sits on top of a lightly unclear, golden body. The aroma has a strange fruityness, in a quite nice way though. Meaty malts in the back. The flavor is mostly fruity, still with the same strange fruity touch found in the nose, as well as a little maltyness and a bitter touch. Full-bodied and quite dry. Some bitterness in the else fruity finish. Judging from the commercial description this beer definitely don’t comply with the German purity law, but that’s perfectly fine with me. I still don’t know if I think it was a well performed experiment, but it’s definitely far from bad, and the use of ingredients are certainly expected considering it’s an Italian brewery. 130208
