Swing top bottle 500ml (as "Höss Neuschwansteiner Das Echte", K-Isolinna, BB 12/2011)
German beer #999. Pale yellow color, small white head. Herbal, slightly sourish, malty and cardboardish nose. Light to medium bodied. Cardboardish woody maltyness dominates the flavor, light buttery notes and herbal hoppyness. Light acidic note. Really boring German pale lager.

Purchased at the LCBO in a 3-pack of different beers from Hoss for Christmas 2010. Best before date on back label says 30.05.11 and "Neuschwansteiner Das Echte" on front label. Swing-top brown bottle and served in one of their tall round-cylinder glass mug. Pours a slight hazy light yellow colour with a foamy soap cap that stays a while and leaves patchy lace. Sweet malty nose, but not caramel. More like white grapes and honey. Mild carbonation with a slick, slightly oily feel. The taste is grainy and again, but milder, with honey and grapes. Quite a nice easy-drinking Helles lager.

This helles poured a lightly cloudy, light yellow colour with a fast living, bright white, rocky head. To the nose there are scents of creamed corn, light vanilla and a very slight vinegar scent thats barely noticable. First swig was very light, almost to the point of watery. Very light corn flavour with a hint of hop. Very boring flavour wise but still easy drinking. Finish is creamed corn and light malt.

50cl bottle, labeled Neuschwansteiner Das Echte. Poured clear, pale golden color with a white thin bubbly head. Aroma is grainy, somewhat sweet. Flavor is sweet, with malt and fruity notes. Not much bitterness detected. Easy to drink, but not really that good.

Bottle, as Neuschwansteiner Das Echte. It’s a clear, golden beer with a finger-thick white head soon diminishing into a thin layer of bubbles. Nice lacings though. There’s a touch of tropical fruits in the aroma, and a sweetish, grainy, almost puke-like scent. The flavor is sweet and a bit sickingly, with tropical fruits and some bitterness. Medium body, almost sticky. There’s a little bitterness in the finish too. Drinkable indeed, but not very good. 100101

Pale yellow with clear white head. Dry lager. Normally, I wouldn’t go for something like this, but this one I liked. Rated 11/1/04

swingtop bottle clear pale yellow, smooth head that disappears fast, leaves lacings. dry aroma, faint cookie sweetness. other than that pretty dry and discreetly bitterhoppy. flavor is sweet, faint malty, faint bitterhoppy, very easily drinkable, and the smooth palate helps even more. nice flavor but definetly not trying to scare anybody. I bet everyone who are not into beer in general would like this one a lot.
