Tasting at Matt's
Black colour. Strong roasted malt character, hint of rubber, liquorice, coffee; it's rather dry than sweet.
Solid.

330mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out cracked black pepper, light spiciness, and medium toasted malt. Flavour reveals medium toasted malt, with a little spiciness and black pepper. I'm not too convinced by this -- the spicy, peppery character is a bit off-putting. Pleasant overall.

0,33l bottle at home shared by Sander, big thanks. BB 12.05.2018. black color, small coffee colored head. smells light vanilla, earthy, doughy, licorice, cocoa. full body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of ash, earthy, licorice, hints of lactose, vanilla, bit peppery. finishes light to medium roasty bitter with notes of ash, lactose and vanilla. rather smooth, love the lactose notes. smell is rather subtle, taste is heavy on the ash. very good balance. 8, 4, 8, 3, 16

330 ml bottle, bb 12/05/18, shared by Sander, thanks!
Black body, with a medium, creamy, tan head.
Aroma of coffee, soy sauce, dark chocolate, cocoa powder.
Tastes quite similar, with more tobacco, some hops.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a low carbonation.
Finishes roasty, medium bitter, subtly sweet, a bit hoppy, wooden, with tobacco, liquorice, coffee, cocoa powder.

Tasty. Straight and very roasty, while also with a subtle hoppiness. Not outstanding, but a really solid style example, without gimmicks.

From a 330ml bottle on 27/7/2016. Pours the deepest brown with almost no head. The aroma is primarily chocolate and caramel, with some light roasted malt. Flavour wise, it’s big and bold, with lots of dark chocolate, caramel, roasted malt, some dark fruit and spices, finished off by some big hops. the palate is creamy and the carbonation soft. A really well balanced, cohesive and very tasty impy.
