Pours a hazy orange / gold with an inch of foam that leaves some good lacing behind.

Smells yeasty, hoppy, fruity.

The taste is yeasty, hoppy bitter, earthy when it comes to the malt.

Medium body and carbonation.

It is pretty good example of the style but I don’t think I would buy it again.

Bottle @ home. Hazy golden colour, white foam. Lively carbonation. Grassy with notes of grapefruit and peach. Easy drinkable. Ok tripel.

Bottle: Poured a murky toilet brown copper with off white head. Sweet sugary fruit aroma. Nice sweet malts, sugary, fermented fruit and dry metallic finish.

Bottle from Special Brews in Lynwood, WA. Pours gold with a white head. Fruit ester aromas. Like fruits de bois with a nhint of banana. Flavor is a bit sweet, but the esters and yeast seem appropiate. Pretty tasty and drinkable tripel.

Bottle @ Comptoir des Arts, Brugge. Cloudy amber-blonde with a head. It’s fruity with orange a dominant flavour. Has a small floral aroma.

Tasted as Boelens Tripel Klok, which is the ’new’ name of this brew since 2009 (so the name above needs updating). Not entirely the same recipe either: this version has more hoppiness than the old version. Thick, almost rocky, yellowish white head, hazy peach blonde colour. Aroma of peaches, sweet honey, field flowers, vanilla, perhaps some iron, cake. Soft fruity onset, some citrus freshness, apple, smooth and medium thick mouthfeel, soft and gentle, finishing in a floral hop bitterishness through which the malt sweetness also lingers. Well-balanced, but a bit clichΓ©.

330 ml bottle into chalice, best before 2/12/2016. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy deep gold color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a large amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big lemon zest, peach, pear, apple, light banana, pepper, herbal, floral, light clove, candi sugar, bread, and floral/yeast earthiness. Awesome complexity and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon zest, peach, pear, apple, light banana, pepper, herbal, floral, light clove, candi sugar, bread, and floral/yeast earthiness. Moderate earthy yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon zest, peach, pear, apple, light banana, pepper, herbal, floral, light clove, candi sugar, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt flavors; with a crisp malt/yeast flavor balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly prickly mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is an awesome tripel style. All around great complexity and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.

Bottled, BB 30 Apr 15, large sample. Hazy golden color, short frothy head, which quickly diminishes. Aroma of diacetyl, mashed apples, slight sourish yoghurt, strawberry, slight spicy. Bit dry taste, bit bitter. Obvious brewing mistakes. Horrible stuff.

Tasty Belgian tripel. Yeasty, grainy and with a smooth fruity sweetness. Not special, but just nice.
