Bottle. A gift from Andrew and Aileen. Cheers. Deep chestnut brown. Nicely sticky dense of white foam. Burnt caramel. Notes of date and prune. Estery and yeasty. Taste is super bitter, with burnt sugar notes. Very leafy bitterness. Very tasty gear, but overall the burnt bitterness overrides.

330ml bottle from Craft Republic in Moscow. Bottled in December 2017. Pours opaque brown with a massive beige head. Aroma is Belgian yeast, dried fruit, vinous, cardboard. Taste is light sweet, dried fruit, yeast, stale malt, cardboard. Sweetish finish. Medium bodied. Almost no carbonation. This has aged really quite badly. Seems to be oxidised.

Bottle at home, picked up in Eire, 26/09/19. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a well presented lasting khaki head. Nose is dried fruits, light spice, toffee, brown sugar dusting, brown bread. Taste comprises fruit cake, light spice, dark malts, tangy fruits, toffee. Medium bodied, light prickly carbonation, semi drying close. Passable affair … lacks depth for the ABV.
