Brewed on: October 10, 2011. Packaged on October 25, 2011. Our first ever collaborative beer has all the familiar flavors of the season, but done with Epic style. To a base of strong, roasty, and chocolaty porter, we add 200 pounds of real pumpkin per batch, five spice and whole Madagascar vanilla beans. As you pour this deeply ruby brown beer, you’re greeted by the aroma of fresh cut squash, followed by rich chocolate. The flavor starts sweet with marshmallow, vanilla, and some pumpkin pie, then yields to a coffee roast and dark chocolate dryness. This beer is a great introduction for curious drinkers and a special holiday treat for fans of the style.

Bottle @ Brandon’s house, courtesy of arminjewell. Thanks! Dark brown appearance with a small tan head. Nice roasty pumpkin, chocolate, tea, spicy, vanilla aroma. Toasty, vanilla, chocolate/caramel malty, fairly spicy, pumpkin flavor.

This brew pours dark brown with a medium light beige head that diminishes steadily to a film. Stringy lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of chocolate malt and pumpkin. Medium body with flavors of roasted malt, pumpkin, chocolate and hops. The finish is malty with a lingering pumpkin and bittersweet chocolate aftertaste. Above average overall.

On tap at Papago pouring up dark mahogany body and lasting dark tan head. The modest aroma offers up dark roasted malts, unmistakable pumpkin notes and faint spiciness. The taste is a bit spicy to start with a winter spice like twist and then quickly followed by sweet cherry esters, yeast, dark roasted malts, slightly burnt malts and then ribbons of sweet pumpkin meat amid the spices and dark roasted maltiness. This has a full rich brew flavor where a bit more pumpkin would be interesting although it is pretty nice as is.

Bomber that helped me through my (almost) Solistice Brew Day. Pours a dark and dreary brown... fitting for the shortest day of the year. Aromas are sweet with chocolate, pie spices and dark brown sugar. Flavor is a mix of the above with a distinct vegetable pumpkininess to it all... not sure if it’s suggestion from the spices or if it’s there, but this is mighty fine stuff.

22oz Bottle Release #1 Imp pumpkin porter. Pours out a dark brown topped with a big tan head quickly going to a tan ring. Aroma of roast, light spice, nutmeg, card, and some pumpkin pie notes. Taste is more of the roast with a nice pumpkin pie spice at the end.

Labeled Release #1 Imperial Pumpkin Porter: Pronounced pumpkin nose with significant portions of nutmeg and brown sugar. Cola brown, medium tan head, nice lacing Grilled pumpkin flesh flavor? Dry, bark finish. I don’t care for this style, but this is a well crafted example. It’s not overly spiced and the pumpkin is nicely blended in with the roasted malt.

Bomber. 7.5 % ABV. Release #3. Pours deep mahogany with a medium beige lacy head. The head holds itself up well. Aroma is toasty pumpkin pie. Taste is lightly sweet, roasty; finishes dry and faintly tart. Has a bit of a nutty flavor. The pumpkin and spices are there but I wish the flavors were more prominent. It’s good but I was hoping to be blown away.
