While the size of the boot might be a bit small, the intensity of the hop flavor and aroma in Size 7 more than makes up for it. We take prodigious amounts of hops and add them any chance we get to this Northwest style IPA. If you ever call Size 7 balanced we’ll kick you where it hurts (in the hop sack).

Minnesota Trip Beer #46. Keg at the brewery, 5/8/16. Clear copper, large creamy off-white head, good retention. Aroma of pine, grapefruit, pale malt. The taste is grapefruit, pine, lemon, pale malt. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness. This is a very worthy 1000th IPA!!!

Vielen Dank an Erzengel! Klare dunkel goldgelbe Farbe, fingerbreite weiße Schaumkrone. Der Geruch ist angenehm hopfig, grasig, frisch, Citrusfrüchte. Der Geschmack ist sehr malzig, kräftig hopfig, sehr bitter, Citrusfrüchte.

Many thanks to Jeremy for bringing it over! Nice floral nose, smooth and mild beginning. Nice intense pine, round and smooth-sweetish body. Very smooth. The bitterness appears only in the far end with a rough but still fitting aroma. Fruits, oranges, pine. Nice summer-flavours in the fruits. Long and intense fruity-piney aftertaste with not too much sweetness, but highly drinkable. Round and great intense brew! For 7% this beer is great - not too sweet, easy to drink and full of aroma!

From a 22 oz bottle. Aroma is very hop forward with a ton of grapefruit and some lighter pine. Light caramel malt and medium light pale malt. Some other citrus notes and a bit of dank resin. Pours a very clear copper orange with a good sized, fairly thick head that exhibits really nice retention and lacing as it slowly recedes. This might be the most clear IPA I have ever had. Medium small legs. Flavor is assertively hoppy with a nice grapefruit and pine character and quite a high bitterness. Some light pale malt notes with medium light caramel. I don’t normally like caramel malt in my IPAs, but it works when the hop character is so grapefruit and pine forward. Hints of alcohol in the finish. Some lingering bitterness, pine and grapefruit with hints of caramel. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice IPA in the more classic West Coast style, but not like the more modern, dry, fruity versions. Easy drinking and well made.

22oz bomber courtesy of TheHOFF43 pours with a crystal clear copper body that supports a thin nearly creamy tan head that leaves behind some spotty lacing. The aroma offers up some sweetness, some cantaloupe and then a mix of mango and a sliver of citrus mango hard candy. The taste starts with pulsing pleasing hoppy goodness with a mix of mango, grapefruit and then modest spicy hoppiness. The hops have lots of both flavor hop notes and firm hop bitterness and to midway the spicy slightly onion like hops gain a resiny bitter hop facet to them. Nice. I’m really enjoying the balance and depth of the hops and the modest malty sweet backbone.

Bottle [from trade with mista] @ home. Clear rusty orange color, medium sized white head. Aroma is malts, hops, lightly pine. Taste malts, hops, some pine, nicely bitter. Lovely IPA, medium to full body, suitable carbonation.
