Admittedly, it’s a bit of a paradox to name our Amber Lager for history’s most famous agent of prohibition. But it’s a smooth, malty (and dare we say, arresting?) paradox.

Deep Amber red color, with a fragrant malt aroma. Flavorful notes of rich caramelized malt and noble hop flavors harmonize on the palate leading to a crisp clean finish. Named after one of Cleveland’s most respected safety directors, who frequented the brewpub's bar during his tenure from 1935-1941 and, according to popular legend, was responsible for the bullet holes still evident today.

typical amber pour, beige head. Nice malt profile, and just enough hops. Extremely well balanced, and i could drink this forever. One of the most balanced beers i have ever had, a true session beer.

Paint nails and put laundry away kind of night. Tasty little beer, too.

On tap at Great Lakes, pours a clear dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings out bready malt with little else. Flavour is malty and dry, with a sort of spiced character, dry bready malt, and not much else. How it this a 100th percentile Vienna? It's clean and fine.

Bottle from 101 Bottles, Kent, OH. Esb like aroma. Deep mahogany cherry red. Very mature Amber lager that has real gravity and a long bitterness for it.
