Cask at the standing order. Pours clear gold with a thin white head. Aromas of light booze, malt, sugar. Taste is hot, sweet, thin finish. Ok.

Cask at the clerkenwell spoons. Hazed orange golden coloured pour with a stodgy off white head. Aroma is subdued pale grains, hints of apple, sweet nutty malts, Flavour is composed of stale grains, dried apple and nuts, some English strong ale characteristics. Little apple.and cardboard. Palate is semi sweet, dull OK. Utterly forgettable.

Shared 16.9 oz. bottle. Amber color with a white head. Aroma and taste of malt, caramel, some dark fruits, and alcohol. A malty sweetness is the dominate element, and not necessarily in a good way. Not that great.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Golden amber with a thin white head; grainy aroma with a hint of orange; thick and syrupy with a malty body and a touch of spice; then a sourish grainy finish.

Cask @ Shay Wake, Shaw. Golden with a small head. Has a strength with a light fruitiness evident too. A little disappointing, but I have picked up the bottled version too, so maybe my view will change for the better sometime in the future.

Cask handpull at Eight Bells Spoons Dover. Clear amber orange brown colour lasting beige head. some peppery hop some Syrupy sweet malt. It’s kinda ok quite malty. OK.

Bottle at Firkin Ale House Folkestone, clear amber brown beer lasting beige head. some Robinson yeast house yeast. Malty pasteurised. It’s kinda ok. Some pepper hop on finish. Too fizzy but ok

Cask at Victoria station spoons. Pours clear golden, nose is malty toffee, taste is similar, ok.

Bottle @ Home. Pours dark golden with an offwhite head. Aroma of malt, caramel, wood, light spice, slight herbal hops. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, malty, caramel, bread, wood, herbs, light alcohol. Medium body, average carbonation, light sweet finish. Not great, but still a good bit more exciting than modern day Iron Maiden! 080316
