Bottle from Kestral, thanks! Dark amber color. Some berries and a hint of smoke in the aroma. Malty sweet, alcoholic flavor with dried red and tropical fruits. Light smoky notes. A powerful beer!

Sample during Blarney Wine Festival 2019 on 03/16/2019. Murky brownish-amber color with a medium thin tan head that diminishes quickly to an outer ring. Sparse patches of lace. Aroma of roast malt, fruit and caramel. Full-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, dark fruits and mild earthy hops. The finish is fruity with a malty aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Amber with off white head - aroma of malts and some dark fruits - tastes of sweet malts, some dark fruits - the sweety malt continues into a lingering finfish - this was very nice

500 ml bottle into snifter, bottled on 6/18/2009. Pours extremely cloudy reddish brown color with a small 1 finger fairly dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Some decent spotty lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of big raisin, prune, toffee, caramel, toast, biscuit, cocoa, earth, herbal, pine, molasses, and honey. Very nice and well balanced malty aromas with good complexity. Taste of caramel, molasses, raisin, prune, pear, apple, herbal, floral, earth, toffee, chocolate, toast, biscuit, pine, honey, and light spiciness. Minimal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, molasses, dark fruit, apple, toast, biscuit, chocolate, honey, and herbal on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance of flavors with good complexity, and no cloying sweetness. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a creamy and fairly slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a small warming noticed well after the finish. Overall this is a very excellent barleywine. Great flavor balance and complexity; and quite smooth to sip on as well. Highly enjoyable stuff.

Bottle shared by Mike12da. Estery nose, apple, pear, funk. Cloudy brown with lace. Fruity, sweet flavor, with vanilla. Light and clean, not all that interesting really, though it did open up a bit as time passed. Decent.
