10/V/14 - 33cl bottle from local Delhaize @ home - BB: 31/I/16 (2014-494)

Clear orange beer, big aery fluffy white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: weird, bit sweet, very spicy, cloves, aniseed, orange peel, sugary, bit nasty. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very spicy! Shitloads of orange peel, cloves, aniseed, more orange peel, unpleasant bitterness. Aftertaste: orange marmalade, sugary, spices overload again.

Vacation 2013 @ Virton, Belgium. 33 cl. bottle @ the bungalow, bought @ the local Delhaize supermarket.

Deep golden colour with a thin white head. Fruity nose. Bittersweet taste with some candy sugar. Lively carbonation and a bitter aftertaste. Decent but quite boring.

Hazy golden with a small white head. The aroma has sppicy phenols and a touch of fruit. Sweet fruity flavour with phenolic, yeasty notes and some warm alcohol. Bland and boring but a blonde brewed to style

Straw with a creamy head; wheat and citrus aroma; similar flavours with a smooth creamy texture; long tart and bitter citrus finish. Not exciting.

Dec 2009: Cork and Caged 0.75 litre brown bottle produced for the Delhaize Supermarket chain, this one was bought from their store in De Panne, close to ’Plopsaland’. Poured into four tulip glasses in one pour. Each glass had a slight haze, the sediment stayed mostly in the bottle. True blond in colour and with the normal snow white head. Yeast and hops with a sweet and sour (apples?) aroma from the brew. The bottle had a life until 14 May 2011, so it was young when comsummed (28th Dec 09). Fizzy, crisp and refreshing, but with very little body, flavour or substance. If it had been allowed to age a little it might have been better, but I doubt it. Cheap supermarket beer, the 7% isn’t detectable and the beer was frankly watery.

75 cl. bottle@my beertasting – sample: clear amber/orange with a white head, dry with bitter honey, too much spice that obliterates much of everything else, Belgian hops bitterness (too much for its own good), yeast, flowers & alcohol, slightly metallic, bit thin, too carbonated, not a very good example of its style & not that good in general

Bottle looks simple, beer in the glass quite zippy, huge fast dying head. Starts sweet-hoppy, turns then more and more sourish, also quite metallically. Hoppy-dry background. All in all too unbalanced.
