Pink color. Cherry pits in the mouth that isn't overly sour, nor overly complex. Ok.

Bottle, courtesy of Koelschtrinker, vintage 2009. Pours unclear red. Aroma is bitter almond, marzipan, cherry stones, not much else. Body is medium, sour and tart yet not extreme in either, but basically flat after all those years. Still flavourful and round, even smooth. Cherries, more bitter almond, even little acetone, some funk, almost kriek-like, but much less stables and horse blankets. Outstanding balance and drinkability with no compromise on flavours or complexity. Great!

On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. This is a cloudy almost glowing dark amber looking with a small sidesticking beige islandy top. The aroma is tart and woody, light sour like in red sour berries. Nice. It's soft on the carbonation and light oily in the mouth. It's soft and gentle in the tart flavors, at least compared to other things I've just tasted from the brewer. Some red wine vinegar, pepper and red grapes. Lasting and lingering flavors. Quite good this! 11.05.2012

’Versnijbier’ which originated as an improvised experiment at the Nationale Bierhappening of Zottegem in 2008 but limitedly continued after that. Struiselensis mixed with Kerasus apparently results in a beer reminiscent of oude kriek, with a pale pinkish, thick head and deep purplish red colour, misty. Complex and assertive aroma of sour cherries on a nutty and caramelly malt base, funky, sherry- and hay-like impressions; soft sourish taste, complex, woody, extremely fruity from real fruit and estery yeast, interesting spiciness in the finish further adding complexity. A must if you’re into sour beers.

Pours deep clear red, very small white foam . Smells like a swiming pool ( nevermind , i always get this with old cherry beers) Thin mouthfeel , harsh sourness ( i would believe this is american ) Some cherry ( most of it in the aftertaste ) dry . Nice but not thrilled
