On tap at Craft Room, Opatovina, Zagreb in the summer of 2017. Murky golden, small off-white head. Yeast driven, dusty and fruity. Bready flavours, malted wheat. Medium body, moderate carbonation, moderate finish. Nice, although not aromatic enough.

4.5% alk. Prava pšenična piva kojoj nemam nekakve bitne zamjerke.

Pours very haze pale orange, topped with medium, dissipating white head. Ripe bananas, some clove and other spices, a bite sweaty nose. Taste same. A bit of sweetness upfront with some spiciness in the finish. Medium body. Nothing special, but proper classic weizen.

Bottled 500ml. -from Pivoteka Zagreb. Hazy orange/golden coloured, small off-white head, soft wheaty nose. Sweetish malty, wheaty, yeasty, slightly phenolic and some herbal notes with subdued touch of banana in the finish. Ok one but all in all nothing special here.

Bottle, 0.5l. Hazy orange pour with one finger slightly off-white head. Average retention, good lacing. Slightly tart nose, yeasty, some stale grassy notes. Thin to medium body with somewhat creamy texture. Soft carbonation, pleasant mouthfeel. Taste is a bit unusual, a bit different; starts somewhat tart, develops into slightly off-placed bitterness. Aroma is grassy, wheat notes, hay. Pretty high metallic acidity leading into lasting unpleasant bitterness which doesn’t really belong into a hefe. Very faint fruity notes. Strong corn presence in the aftertaste. Lacking in balance department, lots of room for improvement here. Overall, quite mediocre. Drinkable but unbalanced. Too much off-flavors. Metal and corn in hefe? No, thanks. A bit disappointed with this one.

Bottle from the brewery, thanks guys! Poured a murky peachy body with a big, relatively lasting off white head. The aroma is complex, and not always optimally so - caramel-like and wheat malt undertones, white bread crust, some herbal touches, mix of banana and pear esters, phenolic touches winning out most of the time. Enough sniffing and everything that should be there pops out, but not in perfect harmony, still, not bad. Soft, full taste, ending slighly dry which helps drinkability. Chewed-up bubblegum and wheat malt, with some herbal hoppy touches. Subdued esters. Even a vague herbal hoppy aftertaste. Ah, great that they have tried it, and I appreciate the effort Krešo went through on this one, but I hope they nail it better next time - it’s not by any means a bad hefe - it’s true to style and drinkable - and quite full and tasty for 4.5%, just not the mix of tastes I prefer. I have no doubts, however, that this will go great with a certain segment of beer drinkers. Reminds me a lot of Medvedgrad’s Dva Klasa.
