Midway between a Belgian blonde and a triple, its pale sweet malt notes never fail to charm the palate.

Brewed for the first time in the summer of 1996, its name was inspired by a nun who, after tasting a beer for the first time, said it tasted better than holy water (eau bénite in French). Amen.

Bottle - Sweet grains and honey with some candy like nougat. Cloudy gold with a rich white head. Sweet and flowery aromatic notes much like its nose. Very sweet but pleasant. None of the dryness or grassy notes I like but good nonetheless.

Bottle @ Home. Pours slightly hazy orangebrown with a small white head. Aroma of malt, yeast, light honey, spice, fruit. Flavor is light sweet, malty, belgian yeast, honey, sweet fruit, pear, little alcohol. Medium to full body, soft carbonation. 150910

Bottle @ the rake dungeon stored in various rotboxes for the past three years. Slight gusher. Nice looking, hazy, bright yellow orange appearance with a cream colored head. The aroma is a bit heavy on the phenols and esters - lots of apple, banana, pear, some clove, and black pepper. Some notes of oxidation in the aroma. Decent carbonation. Somewhat dusty and lightly doughy flavor. Pretty yeast forward flavor. More banana and red apple. Some more oxidation. Not much of a problem with the alcohol - pretty smooth finish. Probably should have been drank a bit more fresh but it’s still kind of a fun beer.

Bottle. Murky apricot body, thin off-white head. Spicy nose, light fruits (white grape, pineapple), clove, and hints of pepper. Body with lots of apples, dough, and cloves. Cider-like. Rich, spicy, and fruity.

Decent tripel without some of the buttery velvety smoothness of a Karmaliet. Sweet malt, flowers, some coriander, head lacks some of the normal fluffy body. Good, but not great.

The pour is a hazed orange golden with a smallish off white head that falls quick. The aroma is the traditional Unibroue house yeast and sweet grassy malt. The taste is the sweet malt, herbal grass and the house yeast shows quite brightly. Initially very sweet, though this integrated a bit better as the beer approached room temperature. The palate is medium to heavy bodied, soft natural carbonation and sweet yeast finish. Decent.
