12oz bottle. Blackest of beers. This beer doesnt hit you upside the head with chocolate or coffee. Before reading the description I wasnt even sure of these were due to adjuncts. Its low on acidity, low on dry sandpaper, not big, boozy, or sweet toothy. Heck, I can't ask for more.

Bottle. Coffee, chocolate malt, bourbon, and hay aroma. Oil black with minimal head. Moderately sweet coffee, chocolate malt, bourbon, and moderately bitter ash and dry hay aroma. Good body. Nice.

500 ml bottle into snifter, bottled on 12/9/2016. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1 finger dense dark khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty dark roasted coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted oats, and dark bread; with lighter notes of vanilla, molasses, smoke, dark fruits, char, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, chocolate, coffee, and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty dark roasted coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted oats, and dark bread; with lighter notes of vanilla, molasses, smoke, dark fruits, char, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light roast/char and herbal hop bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty dark roasted coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted oats, dark bread, smoke, char, light vanilla/dark fruit, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, chocolate, coffee, and light earthy hop flavors; with an awesome roasted bitter/sweet balance, and zero acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from hop/char bitterness as well. Mild carbonation and full body; with a very smooth, creamy, silky, and velvety mouthfeel that is fantastic. Slight chalky roast and sticky hops. Alcohol is very well hidden; a mildly increasing warmth of 10% through the glass. Overall this is a outstanding chocolate/coffee imperial stout! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, chocolate, coffee, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the ABV. Amazingly rich and complex. Tons of coffee/chocolate presence, and spot on balance with the base stout flavors. A highly enjoyable offering.

Bottle from baldwizard for free beer week. Deep pour. Nose is lighter but nice of choclate and roasted coffee beans. Tastes of coffee ground, light dark fruits, some choclate, earth, malt, hint of earthy potting soil. Smoother bodied. Decent.

Sample at the tap room during the 1st Anniversary Party on 02/28/2015. The beer pours black with a little brown around the edges and a medium thick creamy tan head that recedes gradually. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of smoky malt, coffee and chocolate. Full-bodied with a charred malt character and notes of coffee and dark chocolate. The finish is smoky with a coffee aftertaste. Solid beer all around.
