Gose against the Grain is a complex minerally, saline sour, liplicking delicious cider. Hints of the seaside, the Gose style accentuates our cider's appleyness!

26/1/2023. Bottle shared at the 14th Colchester Winter Ale Festival. Pours clear golden with a small bubbly white head. Aroma is sweet apple, slightly woody/funky, vanilla, caramel, touch of solvent, mild salty edge. Quite sweet, with some tartness. Medium body, oily, average carbonation. Light dryness to finish. Nice but hides the gose element a little too much.

Bottle at Colchester Winter Ale Festival. Clear yellow color, some bubbles. Aroma of lightly earthy apple. Taste is fruity with an earthy edge. The gose component is very subtle, I would have missed it had I not known about it in advance.

500ml bottle from Caps and Taps. Golden colour, white foam head that quickly dissipates to a thin layer and aroma of apple, funky, salt. Taste is apple, fruity, caramel hint, woody, acetic funk, yeasty, with some sour & salty notes. Medium bodied, light carbonation, drying soured salty finish. Nicely drinkable.

500ml bottle shared with Soph listening to 6 Music. Pours clear gold. Aroma of fisherman's ropes, salt. Curious swirls of flavour on initial sip, salt, vinegar, wild yeast, acetic apple skin with deep caramelised apple fruit emerging on the finish. These start to settle, with a sandy salty linger and desert apple sweetness carrying through. Entertaining and different.
