13 April 2019. At First Timternational Beer Tasting, Ghent. Cheers to Ghent beer crew! Pours hazy dark brown-black with a lasting, unstable, frothy, beige head; little lacing. Aroma of butterscotch (Werther’s Original), burnt caramel, burnt marshmallow, chocolate powder, mocha, fondant, ‘raw’ vanilla, faint dark fruits. Taste is medium malty sweet, creamy-chocolatey with touches of toffee, vanilla edge, roasted bitter tones of mocha, restrained fondant, bit of a powdery effect retronasally. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, black tea-ish almost, lingering fondant & toast. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Sweet Stout indeed but enough roast to balance it out. Nice.

Can from Cotteridge Wines and shared in Bangkok. Poured a clear dark brown colour with thin broken light tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, big sweet chocolate, mineral, light hop. The flavour is moderate sweet with a rich, smooth, roasty, chocolate, light liquorice, milky lactose palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Pours a thickish black with a small consistent head. Aroma is lightly roasty, lactose, milk chocolate, sweet. Lovely. Medium body. Flavour is sweet, lightly bitter. Lots of milk chocolate, some coffee, quite a bit of roastiness. A hint of vanilla. A lovely milk stout. Full of flavour at a low abv.

Looks exactly as you'd want a stout to look and absolutely smells the business with lots of rich, malty chocolate. Tastes of chocolate, malt, a little sugar and there's a good lasting, toasty edge to it. Rich, smooth and a good balance of sweetness and toasty malt. Simple but delicious.
