2019 vintage. pours deep and dark brown to black, very small, relatively stable off-white head. Scent is Bourbon barrels, some age (not necessarily negative though) bit chocolate-like 'dark malts' but nowhere near a stout for sure. Taste is full-on and intense, to the sweet side, loud bourbon barrels but not boozy (at all). Rich, thick maltyness. Milder on the dried fruit, tad more dark malts than the general BW. Quite good ! Even though its 5 years old, this is not a day to old, and I actually expect it was a bit more boozy at the start, making this the potentialy ideal drinking window.

Draft at MBCC 2023, Blue session. Poured a murky medium brown colour with a bubbly off white head. The aroma is sweet toffee caramel. The flavour is strong sweet, with a big treacle toffee caramel, herbal, buttery, warm alcohol bitter palate. Over medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Now this is more like it. For a moment I thought it was a stout, but then the taste arrived. Heavy beast with lots of barrel. Sweet, rich, malty, bourbon. Lots of raisins, even more bourbon. Great thickness, sticky, boozy. Extremely well made.

Bottle. Dark brown, dirty, small beige head, not so lasting. Sweet, dry fruits nose, quite woody, some alcohol, whisky. Sweet start, dry fruits, gently bittery with more dry fruits later on. Quite warming, though not exactly burning. Medium body. Quite strong and sweet.

On tap at Brouwcaf de Molen, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out gentle bourbon, lots of dark red fruits, toffee, and caramel. Flavour is crazy intense, with strong bourbon, dried dark fruits, caramel, toffee, molasses and brown sugar. The depth of this is incredible, though perhaps bordering on too brutal. Very sweet and fairly boozy, but it's held together well. Excellent.

Bottle shared by Pilsnertest. Dark brown with beige head. Loads of caramel sweetness at first, with a vanilla and sweet dried fruit. As it warms there's a big note of liquorice that's quite off putting for me. Shame.
