In honor of the 10th anniversary of the Wintertime theme in the city of Leuven, a special, festive variant was also brewed this year: "Wintertime Cognac Oaked". This variant, brewed on a limited scale, was aged in oak chips from Cognac barrels which gives the beer its delicious Cognac aroma.

Amber colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have sweet candied fruit notes and sweet cognac too. Warming.

33cl bottle from Carrefour market @ in Tervuren near Brussels. F: big, white, good retention. C: gold, hazy, semi-transparent. A: malty, fruity, bit “woody”, bit vanilla, hint of cognac, spicy, banana, red apples peels. T: medium to full malty base, vaguely fruity, bit woody chips, banana, light caramel, more grapes than cognac actually, bit spicy, aroma is better than taste, medium carbonation, I had no expectations here so enjoyed.
