A rich, full bodied best bitter in the traditional Kent style. Finest pale ale malt and crystal malt for colour and richness. Hopped with local Kent Northdown and Finchcocks’ Whitbread Golding Variety and finished in the Hop Rocket with Progress hops from Scotney Castle for a full flavour and aroma.

Bottle. Slightly hazy amber with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel, fruit and hop. Flavour is malt, caramel, fruit, hop, little toasted, medium sweet and a little bitter.

Cask. Clear amber with a creamy off-white head leaving laces. Some greasy British hops in the nose. Light body, low carbonation, a little sweet fruit, light caramel accents and a dry and dusty hoppy finish. 170312

Cask @ The Wharf, Aalborg. Clear amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, light caramel, light fruity and a little baking yeast. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Sweet finish. 100312

Cask at GBBF, 2011. Amber pour with a white head. Citrus and pear aroma. Malts and light fruit flavour. Not too bad.

A light bitter that isn’t that bitter! Mild tang and a light malt. Not too much fruit but quite drinkable.

From cask at Dartmouth Arms. Pours clear and golden orange with a small and lacing. Aroma is malty and mild fruity. Fruity, malty and light sweet flavoured. Fruity and mild sweet finish.

Cask@The Darkmouth Arms. Ambry golden colour, small white head. Aroma is wood, bitterness, some earth and mild nutty notes. Flavour is a nice balance of fruits, wood, caramel, some nuttyness as well as mild syrupy notes. A bit sweet, otherwise very nice.
