A rich, full bodied best bitter in the traditional Kent style. Finest pale ale malt and crystal malt for colour and richness. Hopped with local Kent Northdown and Finchcocks’ Whitbread Golding Variety and finished in the Hop Rocket with Progress hops from Scotney Castle for a full flavour and aroma.

On gravity at Bristol Beer festival, 19/03/10. Deep gold in colour with next to no head. Light aroma of digestive biscuits with a whiff of apricot. Flat, subdued flavours of sweetish malts and fruit with a short, bitter finish. Forgettable.

bottle from Waitrose Tenterden, bought while desperately looking for a toilet en-rute to the channel tunnel. Hazy amber colour, rather large and fluffy white head. Malty with lovely flavours of roasetd malts and caramel, rounded off with a floral-grassy hoppy bitterness.

[Cask at Volunteers Arms, GBBF 2005] An orange beer with a small light orange head. The aroma is sweet hoppy - somewhat light, with the flavor being sweet with lots of diacethyl combined with light notes of mango, leading to a bitter fruity end.

Cask at Crabble Corn Mill Beer Festival. Very malty mid brown beer. Again does not do anything exceptional, a typical best bitter 2.7/5.0 Re-rate Cask handpull at The King & Queen, East Malling. Decent UK best bitter, nice butteryness to the fullish malts, decent earthy hops n nose and finish. VEry suppable. NO less than I would expect from an increasingly promising Kent micro. Even with 2 flies in it, this was good. Really well put together beer.
