The blend of pale, lager, crystal and cara malts give Goldeneye its full body and rich gold colour. The initial impression of moderate bitterness balances with a clean finish. Fruity citrus notes of grapefruit and tangerine shine through with a touch of marmalade sweetness.

Bottle. It pours a clear, dark golden body under a dense, off-white head that lasts. Rather butterscotchy aroma with some fruityness. Some pale malts. The flavor has some bready notes, with caramel and a pleasant hoppy fruityness. Some bitterness too, lasting for a good while, keeping the malty sweetness company. Full body, very soft on carbonation, and it feels quite dry. Not much pleasant aroma in this one, but the flavor is quite nice. 140418

Bottle from Systembolaget Hansacompagniet, Malmö. Clear orange with a lasting white head. Aroma is sweet, malty and moderate hoppy - fruity. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. 020913

Bready cara-malty aroma with hints of honey, accompanied by fruity hops with notes of citrus and grapefruit, as well as a whiff of grass. Moderately bitter and slightly sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a well-carbonated, almost dry mouthfeel. Bottle from McTapps - thank you so much, Sabine! Pours clear orange with small but stable off-white head. Clear aroma of hops with distinct flowery notes. Intense, bitter hoppy flavour with subtle citric and floral notes. Bitter aftertaste with some unwelcome notes of metal. A good thing, but it would be better without the metallic finish.
