Originally brewed as 'something different' for a small beer festival. At the time porter was rarely found in the Midlands, but soon became a firm favourite for those that fancy drinking something a little out of the ordinary. Hops used are Target and Challenger.

Cask at the Crown Inn, Oakengates on 9th Jan 2017. Dark brown pour with a beige topping. Mild chocolate and roasted malts in both the nose and taste: a bit watery for a Porter to be honest.

Appearance: Clear dark brown color with a frothy tan head. Light lacing.
Aroma: Slightly sweet and mild fruity, caramel malty and light roasted malt.
Palate: Medium (light) body. A bit sweet and a light bitterness. Soft carbonation.
Taste: Mild sweetness. Roasted malt, caramel malty and some fruity notes.
Overall impression: Unusual porter. Not to far from a standard British bitter.

500ml bottle - Dark brown, frothy tan head. Nice colour. Roasted grains, bitter-sweet chocolate, cocoa powder. Straightforward, simple, a bit too grainy. Medium to medium/light body, just a bit smoother than balanced. Not bad.
