Pint on tap at Basement Brewhouse, Bankstown. Pale yellow beer with thin creamy white head. Medium carbonation. Laces well. Nose is spice and caramel. Spritzy mouthfeel with light body. Hints of banana and spice with a lightly bitter finish. Drinkable but uninvolving.

(Bottle) Clear golden yellow with tiny loose white head. Pleasant aroma - bananas, grassy hops and hint of cardboard. Light bodied and rather fizzy. Fruity start of bananas quickly replaced by citrus for a rather thin tart mid-palate, developing some peppery notes than evolve into a bit of bitterness in the finish. Refreshing, easily drinkable, unexceptional.

The aroma is marshmallow, banana and butterscotch with a little lemony hop bitterness cutting through the slightly cloying sweetness. In the mouth, the roles are flipped as the hops take the lead, their lemon flavour strangely dominating the roof of the mouth rather than the tongue. Behind that, there’s overripe banana and barley. Overall, the aroma is a little overwhelming for me, but the hops make this hefe reasonably refreshing to drink on a warm day, even if it tends a little towards lemon squash.

Bottle. Hazy orange with a small off-white head that fades to a coat. Aroma has bread, lemon, banana, vanilla. Rather flat mouthfeel for a hefe. Taste is moderately sweet with a little banana and less lemony tang than suggested by the aroma. Quite nice spices - cloves, white pepper, vanilla - in a brief finish.

Pours amber with a small head.Nose shows light wheat with plenty of sweet malt and some lemony hops.Flavours are pretty much the same but the malt is dominating, not enough wheat.Much too much carbonation.

From a 330ml bottle on 15/5/2010. Has a really pleasant banana aroma, with a touch of vanilla. However, when it hits the mouth, it’s a little disappointing. It has quite a bit of sweetness, with some prototypical wheat beer characteristics, but there is almost no bitterness to be found, and the carbonation is a little strong.
