On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2013. This is a deep dark brown one with a quickly gone and light sidesticking beige top. Your can really smell the sourness on the nose here. A bit flemmish perhaps? Red sour berries and a nice sweetness combined with loads of brett and some rubber. Quite interesting and original. Great flavors also. Some paint tones, lots of acidic soaked in lime marinade berries and again tons of brett. Fresh and cool! Enjoyed. 03.05.2013

Bottle. Black with lace. Tangy, oaky nose, yogurt, vinegar, hcocolate, some coffee, orange, some licorice, compost. Choco-coffee sout flavor comes out more in the mouth, with tangy orange, cola, fudge, vinegar. Nice but I feel too young.

Bottle: Poured a black brown with light brown head. Aroma was sour and seemed bacteria filled. Very sour malt taste with dirty wood. Not a style I like and this fits the reason.

It pours with a dark brown body that supports a thin tan head. The aroma offers up modest dark roasted malt notes, mild smoky bacon and a bit of wild yeast sour tartness. The taste delivers a mix of dark roasted malts, a touch of chocolate malts, a faint smoky note and then a decent degree of vinegar and sourness. Pretty nice.

Bottle. Dark brown beer with a brown head. Tart, red wine aroma with light sourness. Tart and malt flavor with red wine, light cocoa, and light oak. Medium bodied. Tartness and red wine linger with coca and light darker malts.

CBC. Almost clear dark brown beer. Light and semi dry palate. Mild crispness. Nice meld of mellow dark malt and lightly sour brett. There is no roast or bitterness in the malt. Light crisp and dry finish. Nicely done!

Bottle (March 2013 batch 1). Pours with a black hued body and a moderate tan head, aromas are roasty, spicy and woody with a definite lactic acid bacteria nose, mildly funky, red wine, vanillin. Very toasty. Doesn’t smell all that dissimilar from our Tart of Darkness. Leathery. Flavors are mildly roasty, tons of dark fruit esters, a bit of a waxy crayon like character, pencil shavings, dark fruit, lactone, mild acidity. Lots of fig, pomegranate and dark fruit. Toasted coconut toasted oak character. Raisiny vinous. Mild tannin, medium carbonation, medium-low body. In general I love Anchorage beers, but I’d recommend trying most of the others before this one.
