Deadication beer to King Henry VIII, who revolutionised the religious order in England, mainly for his own purposes, he was born on this day. I'm not sure there's ever been a ruby revolution outside of this beer, which is a session strength darker malty brew with plenty of flavour.

Bottle courtesy of Grumbo. Thanks. 4.8 % ABV. Light hazy red brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, chocolate and toffee. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Sweet and light bitter finish. 200718

Bottle @ Lincs tasting, Højbjerg. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are caramel, fruits, nuts, chocolate, roast malt and hops. Sweet finish. More like a Mild Ale.

24/4/2018. Bottle from CentrAle, Newcastle. Pours attractive red brown with a lasting off-white to beige head. Aroma of malt, toffee, very lightly smoked, nut, chocolate, hop and fruit. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium body, average carbonation. Dry finish with increasing bitterness. Grower.

Cask at the Guildford arms. Pours deep amber, nose is vanilla, custard, toffee, taste is sweet toffee, roasty, chewy.

On cask at the Guildford Arms. Appearance - deep amber to brown with red chinks. Nose - raisins and prunes. Taste - tart fruit this time. Maybe cranberry. Palate - medium bodied with a tart middle section. Dry tart finish. Overall - quite an individual beer.

Cask at the Guildford Arms. Pours clear ruby with a crema head. Aromas of chocolate and strong red fruit, raisins, raspberry. Taste is tart fruit, cranberry. Dry finish.

Cask at the Quakerhouse, Darlington. Ruby brown colour, tan foam head and malty aroma. Taste is chocolatey malt, roasted notes, dried fruity, with some earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry bitter finish. Quite OK.
