Half-pint, well-kept cask ale at The Blue Bell. Clear copper coloured body. A bubbly ring to the rim of the surface. Spotty lacing. Grass and bread on the nose. Mixture of nuts, caramel, and leafy hops to the taste buds. Bittersweet ending. Medium to thin bodied. Standard Brit bitter, more or less (York 11.07.2014).

Cask at The Blue Bell, York. Pours clear gold, thin white head. Aromas of biscuit and fruit, light herbal note. Taste is more caramel, light hop bitterness. Not bad.

Cask@Euston Tap, London. Amber colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is sweet malts, mild wood, some not-too-sweet syrup as well as mild toast. Flavour is caramel malts,some wood, herbs, sap and mild nutty notes. Fruity and caramel malty aftertaste.

(Cask at Euston Tap, Euston, London, 21 July 2011) Dark amber colour with foamy, beige head. Malty, slightly toasty nose with dark bread and a touch of caramel. Malty, clean taste with notes of dark bread, caramel and slightly dusty hops. Medium body, quite dry. Well balanced and quite nice.

Cask @ 3 Judges. Light amber colour, off-white head. Aroma of biscuit, some flowery hops. Flavour has lots of biscuit malts. Slightly bitter, Well drinkable.

Cask at the Three Guineas, Reading. A good honest bitter, coppery in colour with a creamy white head; sweet malty aroma; sharp fruit flavours and a light hoppy finish.
