This Oatmeal Porter is a robust, dark porter with a silk-like finish from the addition of oats. A complex and flavourful roasty character is complimented with a soft, silk-like finish from the addition of oats.

[33cl can from Beer52.] A dark reddish chestnut pour with a billowing beige head; sour aroma with some coffee; rather thin in the mouth with a weak coffee taste and a grainy body; and a trace of oats in the finish.

Draught. Weak aroma. Almost black colour, seems clear. Small creamy ran head. Mild rye bread flavour. Prickly carbonation for the style. Round and pleasant.

Tap. Black color with grey head. Aroma is full on liquorice, chocolate. Taste is liquorice, chocolate malts, herbs and liquorice in the back. Soft mouthfeel with surprisingly high, but soft carbonation. I suppose it's good for what it is, but it's got a bit too much liquorice for me.
