Hand crafted from 5 malts and traditional flaked barley. Moderately bittered and late hopped with US and New Zealand hops. This stout is as dark as our great grandfather Humphrey’s black humour and has a warm and mature flavour. With a phenomenal marriage of coffee roast, caramel lush, balanced by a clean

500 ml bottle, from Gulating ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 4.3%. Black colour, moderate beige head. Aroma of roast malts, chocolate and mild coffee. Flavour with the same elements, medium dry, hints of citric hops, fairly distinct bittering hops in the finish.

On draft at the brewpub. Pours almost exactly like another Irish stout 😆. Aroma of toasted caramel and coffee. Taste is lovely and smooth, burnt toast and vanilla. But of bitterness in the finish.

Black, ruby edges, dense off white head
Aroma - slightly unusual grassy hop nose, very slight zest peel
Taste of soft roasted malts and that bit of grassy hop
Palate - very soft nitro carb, medium body. Light sweet, soft bitter. Finish of slightly herbal nettles, dab of zest.
Overall - Interesting stout, bit of an unusual take on the standard Irish dry stout

Draught at The Bierhaus Cork. Perfect looking stout, jet black with a rock solid head. Aroma is sweet, a bit like Murphy’s. Flavour is creamy toasted malt, dry burnt background, creamy coffee smoke on the lips. Really liked this, almost as much as the guy.
