Met Gooische Winter wordt het gebied tussen bier en wijn verkend; ‘Winter’ is een volmoutbier met een geur vol van specerijtonen; anijs, piment en peperbessen. De smaak is rond en zoet als van een klassieke ‘barleywine’, het gebruik van wijngist geeft het bier een nasmaak die refereert aan de kenmerkende tannines van een rode wijn.

330 ml bottle. Pours a dark mahogany with moderate head. Aromas of stewed fruit, caramel, dull orange peel and dusty malts. Flavors of dried apricots, orange marmalade, a bit of chocolate cake and toasted malts. Unique. Very good.

(Draft at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 21 Feb 2025) Reddish amber colour with frothy, tan head. Malty, fruity nose with caramel, apricots, orange peel, toast and brown sugar. Malty, fruity taste with notes of dried fruit, apricots, orange peel, toast and a mild herbal bitterness in the finish. Almsot full body, quite sweet. Well balanced and harmonious winter warmer. Nice one.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Sweet and a bit sticky with notes of ripe/dried fruits, caramel, toffee, plum, ripe apricot, malt. Touch of yeast, bit spicy. Rich sweet aftertaste, good body. Rather pleasant.

Fles thuis geprobeerd. Het is een helder amberkleurig bier met een beige schuim. Het heeft een aroma van kruiden en anijs. De smaak is vol kruidig, zoet en wat wijn achtig.

Bruin troebel bier met schuim. Smaak is bitterzoet, fruitig en kruidig met iets van karamel, wat vanille, een vleug anijs wat druif en pruimen. Heel goed.
