Can. Dark brown in color with a small tan head. Aroma is nutty chocolate with roasted grains. Taste is chocolate, nuts and dark roasted grains.

Pint can found locally, I have a tulip glass in place to catch the pour. Really dark brown in color, almost black, with a here and gone cover of creamy tan foam. Nicely fragrant, sweet chocolate, grain, vanilla and booze. The taste, unfortunately does not keep up with the promise of the scent. Chocolate, bread, a hint of bourbon, malt and a curious metallic presence. A thin sensation, I expected some depth. Significant comedown from previous Clown Shoes beers.

Black with a large foamy brown head. Tasty and roasty with nut and vanilla. Long finish. Moderately full bodied.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish, single to perhaps two centimetre tall tan and off-white head that fades pretty quickly. Aroma of earthy malts, roasted grain, nuts, coffee, earth, hay and a good deal of molasses and other deeper sugars with some pitted fruits and pure raisin notes as well. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong earthiness up front from the nuts, especially with a grainy profile and some pitted fruits right behind, but the chocolate and coffee flavours make their way through the cracks and add some pungent bitterness here with the softer sugars at the end from molasses and figs tempering the deeper and more astringent flavours up front. Aftertaste shows some robust nuttiness perhaps from pecans, but tastes similar to peanuts with a lot of sweetness, but more of the earthy, rustic and almost 'dirty' malty and grainy notes, especially at the end. Overall, a pretty nice, deeper porter, but still rustic, flavorful, sweet and nutty that isn't too overpowering, but has a good complexity at the end from all the pungency. Great to sample and not a bad option throughout. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Knightly Spirits in Orlando (Orange Blossom Trail), Florida on 04-November-2021 for US$3,79, packaged on 14-September-201, my friend Phil's Birthday - Happy old Birthday, Phil, and sampled at my house here in Washington on 12-March-2022.

Can/Fest. A- Sweet, caramel, cocoa. A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, light brown head. T- Sweet, caramel, chocolate, nutty. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, sweet finish. O- Not at all tasting like pecan pie but very sweet. Okay. Too rich.

Can from Tom, thanks for the trade. Dark brown with faint garnet at the edges and a decent sized tan head that slowly recedes. Caramel and hints of cherry and chocolate with maybe a touch of nuttiness. Pretty tasty sweet porter.

Can from the 12 Beers of Christmas Pack - Day 03. Assuming this is the same as the 2019 version. Poured a really dark brown color, nearly pitch black. Dark tan, thick tan head. Aroma was lots of roast, some licorice/anise. Not a whole lot of pecan pie in this one unfortunately, really was hoping for some of that sweet, brown sugar, sticky character. Good as something other a pecan pie one.

12oz can. 2020 edition. 8%. Pretty smooth and easy drinking. In the pastry realm, but not obnoxiously over adjuncted. Sweet and creamy, retains some Porter characteristics. Touches of coffee, chocolate, pecan. Good enough.

Can from Cap Tap. Pours very dark brown with a transient, creamy tan head. Aroma has a nuttiness that certainly brought pecan to mind. Approaching full bodied. Flavor is smooth dark toasted malt - not at all bitter - with chocolate and seemingly pecans. Not really dry and not really bitter. Except for a dark chocolate aspect. There is a slightly greasy/nuttiness in the finish. Pretty tasty.

Can pour into tulip glass from Greg & Jane's Beer and Wine. Appearance is opaque black with nice sparkle at the edges of the glass, finger-width light brown foamy head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, mild brown sugar and nuts. Taste is roasted malt, earthy hops, mild brown sugar and nuts. Mouthfeel is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth, thick texture, average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, as a huge pecan pie fan this is weak from a pecan pie perspective. Sweetness and mild nut if I'm really reaching for it. Ok as a regular porter.
