It takes seven different varieties of malt to produce this intensely dark stout with flavours of liquorice and chocolate. A roasted malt aroma is complemented by a hint of vanilla to create a rich full-bodied stout.

Bottle. Nose is licorice, chocolate, slight smoke, lactose, calls to mind a West Indian stout. Taste follows; licorice slight, coco, lactose, hint of coffee. It’s a lot blander than the nose and the finish is very short. Mouthfeel is thin. It’s another in a long line of small British brewers, who seems to only wish to brew beer as bad as the tosh found in supermarkets.

Dark brown w thin head. Aroma is lightly fudgey and chocolatey. Similar palate, a very straightforward stout. Fairly light body and the carbonation feels like the fermentation is ongoing.
