0,33cl from Rudat. Edition Winter 2014/2015. Very dense nose. Dried fruit, roasted malt, dark molasses. The beer starts fruity and dark. Quite easy to drink for the 8%. The body is deep, not too complex. Roasted, dark dried fruit, nice bitterness. I don’t get the promised dark chocolate not too much, but the cherries are there with hints of espresso. Very nice, easy to drink Barley Wine. Could be a bit more complex, but then the drinkability would be lower.

On tap @FrankenFest (Rome), shared by Gianluca. Pours deep brown with a little head. Aroma is malty, caramel, some grassy hops traces. Flavour is medium sweet but well balanced, caramel, burnt malts, hops in the end. Medium body, medium carbonation. Nice one.

At the Franken Fest in Rome-Italy, on tap. Shared by Gianluca, thank you bro. Pours a burnt brown color, frothy ivory foam. Nose: weed, hops pallets, grass. Mouth: mild and balanced caramel, burnt malts, black tea. A really superb beer, very well representing Franconia in my opinion.

Bouteille(0.75 l):Deep ruby-amber coloured with a small but stable off-white head; dried red fruits with a vinous touch, dark caramel in the background; pretty light bodied for a beer of 7.5%, sweet flavour; caramel and dried fruits and a shy acidity in the finish. Superb! You can get this quite monotonous brew just for the sweet sum of 17,95€…

Bottle bought at Landbierdealer Hof. Looks really interesting. Beer in the glass deep black, nice head. Fruity-malty aroma. Starts strong, malty, stouty, earthy-woody. More and more fruity sourish with hints of some berries, also hints of raisins and liquorice. Warming-malty finish, modest smokey. Very interesting beer!
