Guernsey’s Dark Bitter Ale
Balliwick Best (3.6% ABV) Brewed using a blend of the finest Maris Otter and Chocolate malts, this dark bitter ale has a pronounced chocolate character. The well-rounded bitterness is perfectly balanced by a floral aroma derived from English Fuggles and Goldings hops and drinks fuller than its ABV would suggest.

Old Review from 12/09/2014. Found on tap at the White House Hotel on the small island of Herm. Guernsey's brown Bitter ale comes with a white head with aromas of Floral, chocolate and caramel. Tastes of toffee, fruit and roasted nuts. A very nice pint, which I had a second of!

On tap @ The Abby Court Hotel, St. Peter Port. Smooth with a sourish hint in the beginning. Malty with nice bitter ale characteristics, fruity. The mainpart is smooth, slightly malty-sourish, easy to drink but still deep. The aftertaste has sourish malt with a slight ale-bitterness. Very smooth, hints of nuts and roasted malt. Nice!

Draught@The Albion House, St Peter Port, Guernsey
Nut brown color with nitro-generated creamy longlasting head. Aroma has light toffee, wood and grain. Smooth Guinness-like palate. Light toasted, powdery flavor. Low bitterness. Some hops in the aftertaste with some chocolaty notes. Imitation of Kilkenny.
