Cask hanpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Well it is not gold, but copper. Lasting beige head. Some yeast, some toffee on aroma. Then some mineral in mouth with a creamy malt before a moderate spice hop finish. OK if a little bland. Bit of stilton on aroma and finish is interesting.

Cask at the Penny Black, JDW, Bicester, 17-06-07. Poured golden in colour with a small bubbly white head. Inoffensive little number that had some nice hoppy notes, fruit and bitterness in the mouth and drank very well but little else to lift it from this already crowded golden ale market.
