Quite on the dark side of brown, with reddish hints if seen through light. About one and a half fingers of off-white/yellowish head, scarce retention, pretty much no lacing. Quite good intensity in a very simple, well defined, but kind of a bit "uncouth" aroma: caramel sweetness, a decent amount of nuttiness, perhaps the slightest hint of floral hops. Taste feels nicely intense for the abv, again quite well defined but very simple. A more clearly discernible floral hops presence now. Sweetness and bitterness are both pretty intense (for style and abv) and in overall very good balance, with none standing out in both taste and aftertaste. A very clean finish/aftertaste. Light to medium body, average, fine-bubbled carbonation; feels pretty easy to drink with a bit of tingling crispness. Overall: aims at taste intensity but finds an enjoyable sweet/bitter balance. Doesn't have any actual flaw, but lacks complexity or refinement.

Ruby colour, small steady beige head. Chocolaty, a bit hoppy aroma. Light-bodied. Some chocolaty kind of sweetness, low bitterness, weak finish. Meh. AIH205.

Bottle @ Two More Beers, Riga. Dark brown, almost black body under a medium sized tan head. Aroma has roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and caramel. Taste is medium sweet, dark, roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, caramel, nuts and some bitterness. Balanced body and same aftertaste. Quite straight forward, but well made, no nonsense brown ale. Pleasant and food friendly.

Rating 06.02.2022: Smell - roast, malt, coffee. Foam - roast, coffee, malt, weak bitter tones, faint acidic notes.Quite large, medium-dark white-brown color. Appearance - nice brewer bottle cap, bottle label, simple, but overall still a bonus. From - pint Taste- malt, coffee, roast, faint bitterness, hops, faint acidic tones. Interesting, quite malty and coffee-ish in general. Rating 07.04.2019: Smell-weak, roast, some dark chocolate or coffee. Foam- medium thick, roasty bitterness, strong, more to the one side somehow. Medium, brown, creamy, milk color foam, bit reminds of Guinness but not as fine. Stays some time and is sticky. Appearance- I think almost clear, very dark brown color, cant see any carbonation. Taste- roast bitterness, more bitter in aftertaste than initial sip, some caramel, coffee notes, bit of milk. Aftertaste is bit of a downer as I like more sweeter brews, there is some sweetness, but not much. Artistic bottle and beer itself looks good, just not my style, even if drinking more seems to sooth it out, still leaving initial rating. Earlier Rating: 4/7/2019 Total Score: 2.7
