Charles Faram have been working to develop new hop varieties and grow aromatic new English hops. Hop #1391 has been exclusively released to Ilkley Brewery to trial brew with to identify its properties. We are pleased to launch an incredible new beer utilising this new hop. Brewing with Melissa Cole, we added some extra pink grapefruit to lift the notes already present from the new hop.

Yellow appearance. Aroma is a bit soapy. Flavour of pale malts and bitter citrus. Fruity.

Cask at the Cask Pimlico, 02/01/14. Clear pale golden with a moderate off white covering that retains well. Nose is mandarin, lemon rind, straw, light grapefruit, touch of floral hopping. Taste comprises orange sherbet, light red grapefruit notes, toasted malts, lemon zest, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry grassy bitterness and sweet floral tones in the closure. Decent enough ramped up GB.

Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Light golden with a small creamy head. This has shades of fruit in character but they are certainly understated, however it’s a pretty good session ale despite its high percentage.
