Old world meets new in the creation of this Indian Black Ale, big bold hop aromas crash against the roasted dark malts in waves of eclectic flavours.

2nd April 2015: cask half-pint in The Crown Inn, Oakengates. Black body (well it is a Indian Black Ale after all), with a beige head. Burnt malts rule the roost here and the dryness smacks your lips too. Chocolate notes try to get through in the flavour but are beaten back by the over roasted burnt nature the malts seem to portray. Couldn’t find any hop content in either the aroma or taste.

Black. Creamy head. Quite a strong hoppy aroma. Flavour has a good balance of dark roasted malt bitterness and also hop bitterness. Very smooth.
