Otherside IPA is a Maris Otter pacific pale ale packed full of antipodean promise. We’ve selected four of the best New Zealand grown hops to provide a feast for the taste buds. Expect a host of tropical fruit notes against a background of citrus and pine from dry hopping with Motueka.

Cask handpump at The Pump House, Halifax, Friday 9th December 2016 Golden in colour with a slim white head, great clarity. This is crisp and fruity, dry and really citrussy. This is really nice, fresh grapefruit, good fruit. A6 A5 T8 P4 Ov14 3.7

Cask at York Brewery. Gold color and low carbonation, nice white lacing head on top. Grassy hops in the aroma. Flavor is dry. Good hop character here. But not what I am accustomed to at home. Dry grass, bitter, a lottle citrus, and a dry finish with bitter grain and hops in the aftertaste. If we are going to call it an American pale ale, it is a good one. The cask and the fresh condition help this beer.

Tried at the Three Horseshoes, Waddington. Golden colour with a white head. Not big hoppy aroma or taste. Mote light fruity and a touch if pine.

On cask at the Yorkshire Terrier in York. Appearance - golden with a decent head. Nose - orange and light malt loaf at the back. Taste - more of the same. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - very drinkable.

Cask at the Norman warrior Lowestoft. Aroma is weird chive, hop matter, nutty malts, faint vinegar. Clear golden orange coloured pour with a fading white head. Flavour is composed of nutty malts, citrus grassy hop, chive, hop matter. Palate is semi sweet, lowish carbonation. rough aggressive hop bitterness lingers.
