Malt forward, but still carrying a good load of Willamette hops, this is the second batch of beer from the brewing of our American Barleywine 2016.

500ml bottle As part of a delivery from the Blue Boar, Leicester and drunk at home. The beer is light reddish brown, hazy with a small off-white head. Stone fruit and spicy grass notes on the nose. It's got an astringent bitterness to the taste but this is a calmed by a malty caramel sweetness. Notes of spiced orange peel and a touch of tamarind on the aftertaste. Weighty body with medium carbonation. A good strong bitter with many layers.

Keg at Torrside Brewery Open Weekend, New Mills, Derbyshire, Saturday 10th December 2016 Pours Amber with a filmy white head. Fruity bitter but with a solid malty backbone, a nice twist on a fairly pedestrian UK style and whilst it has a good rustic earthy quality it is also good hoppy bitter (ESB) A6 A3 T7 P4 Ov14 3.4
