Yardsman IPA is a 4.3% ABV easy drinking style IPA with all the classic citrusy and hop forward characteristics of the modern IPA style. It’s brewed with our own Yardsman Pale Ale yeast strain which gives the beer a unique mild caramel back bone coupled with a good malty base.

Again like the rest of the range it is completely natural, vegan friendly and only uses the finest of local ingredients. Yardsman is first and foremost local. We pride ourselves on making beers that are easy to drink and representative of this great city. Our Yardsman IPA is the third beer in our journey to revive the classic range of the Hercules Brewing Company.

Creamy off white head stayed on a dark copper coloured still body. Malt, caramel & berry aroma. Medium bodied, smooth on the tongue with a lightly carbonated clean back. Bubble gum, fruity, tangy berries & light hop tastes with a tangy zest finish with a long peppery aft. Nice one!

Bottle at home in Northern Ireland. Picked up from Crumlin Tesco. A mostly clear caramel orange coloured pour with a greyish thin head. Aroma is sweet burnt toffee and caramel, leafy hop, pine burnt orange. Palate is medium sweet, highish frothy carbonation burnt toffee. Flavour is composed of sweet sticky malts, burnt toffee, orange and woody pine hop. Mediocre old school ipa.

Bottle from Tesco, Enniskillen [070516]
Dark amber, light haze, frothy white head
Aroma of soft sweet malt, light hay, very dull
Taste of light malts, soft hay malts, bit grassy, no depth, dull
Palate Soft carb, medium light body. Finish quite dry, rapid.
Overall - Too little hops to be an IPA. Poor example of the style.
