Cask at the Royal Standard, Wooburn Common. A glossy black pour with a loose fawn coloured head; aroma of well toasted malts; taste of bitter burnt grains with a touch of vanilla; then a dry toasty finish.

Cask, half-pint, kindly shared by ManVsBeer at Royal Oak. Fawn coloured head leaving clingy lacing on the glass. Jet black body. Chocolate malty aroma, mid-sweet. Vanilla chocolate flavours. Slightly roasted, mid-sweet ending. Medium bodied. Pleasing porter version. (Halifax 03.07.2018).

Cask @ Royal Oak, Halifax. Very dark with a dryish and bland dark malt taste, where its vanilla is light within a mildly steamed texture. Vanilla is apparent in a floral nose.

Cask at the Pup and Duckling, Solihull. Poured a clear dark brown with a creamy frothy light tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, smoky, charcoal, light vanilla. The flavour is moderate liquorice bitter with a smooth, dry, roasty, coffee, liquorice, hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Expected more vanilla I have to say.
