Die Tage werden länger, die Temperaturen wieder freundlicher, die Natur fängt an zu grünen und alles sprießt und wächst. Im Wonnemonat Mai, der stellvertretend für die Übergangsphase des Frühlings in den Sommer ist, kredenzen die Berger Brauer nach 20jähriger Abstinenz wieder einen Mai-Bock – strahlend, frisch und etwas bockig, eben mit Ecken und Kanten! Die Berg Brauerei pflegt damit deren Bekenntnis zur Biervielfalt und –kultur und die Brauer zeigen einmal mehr wie mit handwerklicher Braukunst ein klassischer Bierstil neu interpretiert werden kann.

Bottle picked up from Sulzberger Bierhaus, Pffafenhofen an der Ilm and consumed sat outside at home about to cook Clams, Chorizo and Feta in a tomato sauce (it's great btw). Listening to Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever - Endless Rooms. Pours warm gold with a white head. Soft moutheel a tad sweet perhaps but nonetheless very pleasant. A little honey jostling with some grainy flavours. A little boozy warmth and thickness in the mouth, it's a good beer.

Berg Mai-Bock, Flasche (MHD: 09.10.21) von MEXXs, SHA. - Bronzegold, klar. - In der Nase sortentypisch sattes, brotiges helles Malz und aromatische zitrusfruchtige Hopfung, kandierte Orangenschale, Grapefruit, Gras. - Antrunk satt & tief brotig-hellmalzig mit einer Andeutung von Toast, feiner Karamelsüße und aromatischer wiewohl nicht sehr herber zitrusfruchtig-kräuteriger Hopfung. Milder rezent, vollmundig; gut kaschierter Alkohol. Im Abgang schöne Hopfenherbe. - Sauber malztiefer, aromatisch gehopfter heller Bock. Sehr schön! (5.10.2021.)

50cl bottle. A clear golden beer with a white head. Aroma of mid sweet and strong pale malt, floral hops. Taste of pale malt, some honey, mild sweetness.

Hell malziger, süßlich herber Beginn. Getreidig, süßlich bleibend, alkoholische Nuancen, die weniger stören als die zu starke Süße. Konstante Aromatik, mittellanger Abgang. 9/7/6/6/11/6

Huge thanks to quack-duck for that one! Bottle looks good. Beer in the glass zippy, small head. Malty-spicy aroma. Starts strong, malty, spicy, fine grasy notes. Not too moldy. Light sourish touch. Well balanced finish. Grasy-spicy finish. Nice!

€-Fläschle (Riesen-Dank am See!): Golden, a bit unclear, visible carbonation, smaller white foamy layer, crunchy grainy-malty nose with a mild herbal and yeasty touch in the background ; robust sweetish-bitter flavour, pretty full bodied; lingering sweet-bitter grainy-malty finish with some balancing herbal hops in the aftertaste. Pours a clear golden color. Malty aroma with alcohol background. Taste is sweet, like from a residual sugar.
