330ml Bottle - Black in colour. Liquorice and anise dominate the aroma which is reminiscent of salmiaki liqueur. Liquorice dominates the slightly herbal taste. Could do with a bit more balance but it goes down easily. Reminds me of a liquidised Black Jack sweet.

Tap at Uiltje bar. Black with small beige head. Massive licorice, aniseed, roasted malts, herbal, some plums and nuts.light sweet with herbal bitter finish. Medium bodied. Nice but a bit too strong on the licorice.

Draft @ beer temple. Nice aroma of roasted malt, with a slight choclate sweetness. Taste is freshly bitter, bit dry licorice, creamy malt, coffee and a dry finish. Very nice.

Bottle from het Biermoment, BB End 2015, large sample. Dark color, short brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, licorice candy (drop). Quite spicy, also because of the star anise, making it very licoricey. Creamy texture, lots of dry licorice, salmiak, drop. Quite salty and spicy in taste, bit sweet from chocolate, medium bitter. Finish is like you just eaten a bag of heksenhyl (salmiakdrop). But all in all, it’s still quite well balanced and not out of control on the licorice. The creamy texture and thick body make it drink quite smooth. Well brewed stuff.

Bottle courtesy of Deanso. Poured a thick crude oil colour with a short-lived frothy tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, light sweet caramel, peaty, dark chocolate. The flavour is moderate to strong bitter with a rich roasty, liqourice, earthy, coffee chocolate palate. Full bodied with soft carbonation and an oily mouthfeel.

Thanks to Douberd, my 2014 Secret Santa. Black color with a beige head with medium lasting. aroma has notes of licoricea and roasted malts. Flavor is slightly bittery dominated by licorice, some ashes hints and roasted malts. Light bittery final with coffee beans mouthfell on palate.
