Aroma of malt, anise, lots of liquorice, cough drops, hint of chocolate. Flavour is rather sweet. Well made, but a bit too much liquorice and anise for my taste.

Bottle 0,33ltr: Opaque black colored brew with an dry bitter taste, hints of coffee, Dutch liquorice, anise and a little bit of saltiness.

Bottle. Almost black, opague. Malt, anis and licorice in the aroma. malty roasty sweet salty flavor with anis and licorice. Very low on carbon. In your face stout, not very complex but likeable. Nice label, by the way.

Pitch black, tall soapy tan head, good retention, light lacing. Aroma sweet malts, cocoa, mild liquorice, light anise and roast. Taste light heavy sweet, light bitter, milk chocolate, liquorice, subtle anise, bit vanilla. Sweetbitter aftertaste, chocolate and spices, alcohol touch. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation, tasty stout.

deep dark brown colour, one inch dense beige head; aroma of cherry dark chocolate bonbon, unripe plum and some anise; taste is quite similar with some toast and syrupy notes; very good

(Draught at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam, 17 Feb 2016) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, cacao, roasted malt, liquorice and a touch of smoke. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malt, some blueberries, liquorice and a dry finish with a generous cacao bitterness. More than medium body, quite dry. Well balanced and tasty stout. Nice one.

33 cl bottle @ home, BBE 2015. Aroma has licorice root and anise. Flavour has ash, slightly salty licorice and some anise. Also coffee. A bit too salty but delicious anyway. I like the dry finish here. At the end of the glass this isn’t that great - starts to feel lame and fizzy.
